Disclaimer:

One Piece and its characters are created by and belong to Eiichiro Oda, the image above is meant as fan-art and is not intended for any purpose other than to convey my appreciation and love for the series.

Left = Hobby-Hobby Fruit

Right = Stitch-Stitch Fruit

Of all the Devil Fruits I thought were going to be revealed, these two weren't even on my radar. On the right we have an example of one of the most complex fruits and on the left is one of the simplest.

The Stitch-Stich Fruit is so far one of the most intricately designed with it's six stitched slices of varying colours. The needle-shaped stem is not something I would have included but the silver colour does give the design something to distinguish itself from the rest of the revealed Devil Fruit.

Now we come to the Hobby-Hobby Fruit. This fruit is many things. It is a memory eraser. It is a fruit with enslaving magic. It can turn people into toys. It gives eternal youth and it is the back back bone of a colossal weapon smuggling operation that runs on the labour of innocents turned into speechless toy slaves.

The only fruits with more or similar complexity that I can think of are the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Sun God Nika & the Op-Op Fruit and like those two fruits, this Devil Fruit has been given deceptively simple form.

The references are straight forward. The stem is shaped like a turn-key and the large yellow panels look like big coiled springs that are used to make wind-up toys walk, roll or some times flap.

Yet again Oda has shown that elegant simplicity can communicate a concept clearly.
