Description
So, this year has been hell, but I figure that since Christmas is over, I'd like to do some art again. However after A24 has picked up Hazbin Hotel for a full length TV show(
please be Netflix, please be Netflix...
), I've gotten into it, but I've recently became a big fan of its spin-off show Helluva Boss. I found out that it is in the same universe which could lead to potential crossover fanfiction between the two of them. Why not?
Despite there only being one episode of Hazbin so far as well as two episodes of Helluva(adding the music video Oh Millie). I will have to say that the characters are amazing in design and personality that I can't wait for more on them to come out. Without further ado, I have my top 10 favorite characters of The Hazbin Universe
10) Dia and Summer-While they had little character besides being Valentino's girls that 'sit/stand there looking sexy accessory girls' for some reason, I'm drawn to their designs, backstory and how the hell did Valentino hook up with them. I had a headcanon that Dia and Summer were friends before Dia went into the business with Valentino to get a job and then Summer went to get her friend out of there....but ended up in the same position as Dia. And like Angel Dust, they were also experiencing sexual abuse from Valentino and therefore had to find comfort with each other, resulting in them falling in love with each other and becoming a couple, but have to hide it from Valentino who turned his attention to Angel Dust and Vox. Either way, I can see them eventually becoming characters in their own right soon.
9) Cherri Bomb-Ever want a best friend who's shoulder you can cry on? Well, Cherri Bomb is that type of friend that will let Angel do that. The only major difference is that she gets off by using bombs to detonate all around Hell. Her backstory is also something I'm intrigued by ever sine the Addict music video, but I had a feeling she was betrayed at some part and thus she does what she does as a way to cope with that inner pain she's feeling. Sassy, free-spirited, and yet a loyal friend, Cherri is one character who intrigues me. If she were alive, she'd make a great construction worker.
8) Moxxie and Millie-These two might be the Ruby/Sapphire and Mickey/Minnie of the Helluva Boss franchise. A loving couple who while despite their differences, is still devoted to each other to the point where they will be there for one another. However, outside of their relationship, Moxxie is represented as the straight man, always trying to point out the flaws of his boss's get-rich-quick schemes and thus having standards when it comes to who he's killing, like when he didn't want to kill an innocent family. Millie, outside her relationship is basically a little psycho-killer who is willing to get down and dirty so don't let her cute little face fool you and...she's still a kid-at-heart like when they went to Loo-Loo Land and she hasn't been there since she was a kid. Oh, and the song Moxxie and Millie sang, "Oh Millie" is so sweet(albeit Blitzo filming them was inappropriate).
7) Angel Dust-Angel Dust grew on me in the pilot, but after Addict, he has really grown on me because you see him in a different light after the events of the music video. See, in the pilot, Angel was portrayed as a flirty, snarky, sassy and sometimes rude character who only took up Charlie's offer of being the hotel's first customer to provide room and board. I also like some of his jokes, but the one with Alastor made me laugh hard.
Alastor: What can you do, my effeminate fellow?
Angel: I can suck your dick
Alastor:  Ha, ha, ha,...no.
Angel:
It's your loss.

Alastor: What can you do, my effeminate fellow?
Angel: I can suck your dick
Alastor:  Ha, ha, ha,...no.
Angel:

However, after Addict, you realize that Angel is staying at the hotel NOT just for room and board, but it's also a safe haven and basically pulling all those wise-cracks because deep down he's suffering from PTSD and depression because his pimp/boss Valentino sexually abuses him and(although we don't see it) has raped him a couple of times to the point where he can't even open up to Charlie or anybody except for Cherri Bomb about how he truly feels. The other only person who understands him is his pet pig Fat Nuggets who he treats as a security/therapy pet as well. And this is all played realistically to where I...I honestly wanted to kill Valentino for all the abuse he puts Angel through cause I want to give this spider-demon some form of hug.
6) Blitzo-If I had to name maybe a lot of characters who Blitzo reminds me of, I can think of a lot, but I'm giving two: Eddy from Ed, Edd, n Eddy, and Iago from Aladdin. Like the two, Blitzo is a wise-ass character who specializes in get-rich-quick schemes to get himself rich and the IMP company is one of those schemes consisting of himself, his two colleagues Moxxie and Millie(with whom he might actually have the hots for as evidenced by him filming their love song and using dolls of them to have a "three-way"), and his adoptive daughter/receptionist Loona. He also shows that he don't care who he'd kill as long as he gets a money deal out of it. Despite his greedy behavior, he still cares for his employees as if they're family and wouldn't change it to the world. I also like how even though he did steal the book from Stolas buy sleeping with him and considers him to be a pain in the ass at times, Blitzo does seem to care about Stolas as a good friend as evidenced by Instagram and even has a soft-spot for Octavia.
5) Vaggie-I love Vaggie. Hear me out, people. Vaggie is AMAZING! She's badass, selfless and yes she can be doubtful of Charlie's idea of redeeming demons with the hotel, she's still a very supportive and loyal girlfriend. Like their relationship is so healthy that I actually can see Vaggie and Charlie eventually having a future together. Vaggie as a character is an inspiration to me as someone who is able to support friends/family despite their ludicrous ideas and also able to stand up for oneself and their loved ones against someone who threatens the idea and plus, she can wield that spear good. I will admit.
Also to put it bluntly for some people who speak Spanish, what Vaggie said to Alastor is "cabron Hijo de Perra" which means "Bastard son of a bitch!" which is actually one of my favorite quotes from her.
4) Charlie Mange-She looks like a devil, walks like a devil, born as a devil, but she's an angel. Like, to me, because of her good-hearted nature, she basically an angel born to the most powerful demon in Hell. To put it bluntly, I personally compare her to Mavis from Hotel Transylvania and Rapunzel from Tangled in both personality. Charlie is one of my favorite characters because she's so perky and peppy to the point of where she can be like a Disney Princess and sing about her troubles and her ideas. However, despite her positivity, she doesn't take no shit from anybody and can put out a fight with anybody especially bitches like Katie Killjoy. Charlie does see the good in everyone like Angel Dust even going as far as to have him be her first customer and try to help him through his pain(even if he doesn't want it),...however, though despite this she does know better than to trust Alastor's tricks and thus can negotiate a compromise with no deals. Charlie is just an adorable main character.
3) Alastor the Radio Demon-And we've come to my top favorite character from Hazbin Hotel. And my personal husbando.
heart: heart: Alastor is a overlord who is known as the Radio Demon due to his personality being like that of a 1920s radio show host and that he harnesses souls with his personality and with his radio like abilities. What I love about this Cheshire Cat grinning con-artist demon is his charm and persuasive nature and how mysterious he is in personality. We've known from Vaggie where he came from and that he's a deal maker, but we don't know what the result of his deals have been so far except green smoke around them or something. He's also like that of a gentleman, like he's not one to get his hands dirty which is why he'd rather not curse or basically commit acts such as with Angel and I also love how he does have a point when it comes to Charlie's idea, like in a critique way without being to hurtful. However, there has to be some interesting motivation for his association with Charlie and the hotel, because I have a gut feeling he might betray the group at some point during the series. Either way, I love him so much. That's entertainment. And remember, smile. You're never fully dressed without one.(I love that quote especially since me, being a Broadway fan, knows its from one of my favorite musicals Annie).
2) Stolas Goetia-This character is my VERY favorite Helluva Boss character. Well, second favorite cause number one is coming up. Loo Loo Land is the episode that made me fall in love with Stolas as a character. Stolas may be a demon of fine privilege and luxury, and yes, he can be Blitz's pain in the ass because of a one-night stand which resulted in Stolas falling in love with him, but what made me love him is him being a fleshed out character. Like what they did with Angel Dust with the Addict music video, they fleshed his out to show that he can be more than just a comic relief character interested in (in his own words)...passionate fornication with Blitzo. It showed that his marriage is deteriorating as we see that he doesn't really have a connection with his wife and deep down he is unhappy in this supposed arranged marriage and that probably is the reason why he's so casual, yet seductive towards Blitzo. However, the one thing that really won me over to Stolas....is how devoted he is to his daughter Octavia and how he wants to be there for her, singing her a lullaby to her when she was scared, listening to her when she finally opens up about her feelings towards the situation and promising never to abandon her even though he is in love with Blitzo. I hope to see more of Stolas in future episodes and what plans Vizzie has for him.
1) Octavia Goetia-And now we get to my top favorite Helluva Boss character besides Stolas. Again, I applaud Loo Loo Land for developing Stolas. But since I talked about him, I want to talk about my very favorite character from the series by far: Stolas' little owlet Octavia. Octavia is the deadpan, snarky, yet edgy teenage daughter of Stolas and Stella, but it turns out the way she acts the way she does its because she is deeply hurt by her father's infidelity and this resulted in both her parents fighting constantly to the point where she's used to it. Despite this, Octavia is very close to her father and loves him deep down. Their relationship rekindles at the end of the episode as they talk about it with Octavia being assured by her father that despite his love for Blitzo, his familial love for her is stronger and that he'll never abandon her for the world. They even leave Loo Loo Land to go shopping at Stylish Occult which is basically their version of Hot Topic. And one of the things about her is that she's voiced by Barrett Wilbert Weed(Veronica Sawyer in Heathers the Musical) which makes me hope for an Octavia song sometimes in the future. I'd also love to see more of her soon.
